A classic German bakery cookie pastry, known as Nussecken, where nuss means "nuts" and ecken means "corners". At Rheinlander bakery the nut part is all about almonds, specifically almond marzipan filling. The pastry consists of a melt-in-your mouth shortbread (murbeteig) topped with an almond macaroon cake like confection and baked to perfection.
We seal the edge with delicate chocolate and top the macaroon with a delicious fruit glaze. They are simply divine and yes you guessed it one of the top 5!
